Louisville Switching is now the proud owner of a new title: OEM Kalmar/Ottawa Dealer. Although the lengthy due diligence process and extensive inspection by Ottawa brings great honor for Louisville Switching, it won't result in a huge change for customers.

"We were already operating pretty much like an Ottawa dealer for our customers, but instead of being engaged to Ottawa, now we're married to Ottawa," says Louisville Switching President Don Robinson

The Ottawa Truck brake system is operated with a foot pedal or (treadle valve). This foot-actuated valve is actually two valves that operate in quick sequence. It is connected in the front and rear brake circuitry so that the rear brakes begin to act before the front brakes when the operator steps on the pedal. When air pressure is correct in both circuits, the second stage is driven via air pressure by the first stage. If air is lost to the first stage, the second stage is driven mechanically by the first stage.

At Louisville Switching we get pretty excited when we sell a new Ottawa Yard Truck to one of our customers because we know the benefits of buying one of these powerful machines. Although we will gladly sell you a brand new, shiny terminal tractor, we get just as excited when our customers go the refurbished yard dog route. We use genuine OEM parts in our refurbishments, which means you still end up with the highest quality terminal tractor, and you don't have to settle for a lesser brand to meet you budget constraints.
