Anyone that follows along with our brand online might know that February and March can be a whirlwind around Louisville Switching. It starts in February with our annual dealer meeting with Kalmar Ottawa. We are a Premier Partner Dealer and always look forward to attending this event. Then we head straight into planning for our Annual Open House. Well this year was no different. 

Louisville Switching Open House Wrap Up

We reached out to many of our local LinkedIn contacts, and sent invitations to our growing list of email subscribers. We created a little promo video and got the word out on social media leading up to the event. We had around 100 RSVP's for the event, and probably another 25-50 people who came the day of. The event is always a success in our mind because we get to connect with our customers, prospects, dealers and trusted vendors. Not to mention we eat some of the best BBQ in the region. Thanks again David! In case you missed it and you would like to see the spread, we shot a quick Facebook live video you can watch. That being said, in the coming weeks we plan to assess how to make the event even better next year and that might involve some input from those who attend. 

During the Open House we caught up with a couple regular attendees who shared why they look forward to the event each and every year. Robert Price of Express Employment Professionals was one of those willing. Take a few minutes to hear Robert's thoughts.

Louisville Switching Mid America Truck Show Wrap Up

After we pack up and clean up things for the Open House, we shift right into preparations for the Mid America Truck Show. As a matter of fact we had Ottawa yard trucks heading out that day for use at the show and for our display booth. 

Fun fact. Did you know that our very own Ottawa's do the switching at the Truck show? If you've ever been out to the show, then you can attest to the massive scale of displays and trucks that are brought into the North, South, and West wings. Well to make that happen our Ottawa switching trucks help the team at the Ky Fairgrounds and Expo Center get the job done. This year a row of our Ottawa trucks were lined up out front as participants in the show arrived for setup. 

The show was a pretty typical show. We talked to passers by, met with old friends in the industry, connected with our dealers (Weller Reman, Cummins and Insta Chain to name a few) and of course enjoyed pork chop sandwiches and roasted nuts. It's also great to stay on the leading edge of our industry by walking the show to check out new products, software, services and innovations. 

One notable difference this year was that our Sales Manager Chris Troutt was sick and unable to attend. Dang spring viruses. He says hi and he missed you all. He'll be back next year. That being the case Don manned the booth with representatives from Kalmar Ottawa corporate on Thursday and Friday and Chris was in the booth with Kory, Chuck and Jacob from Kalmar Ottawa on Saturday.
