Here at Louisville Switching we like to brag about our employees. Today, we took a few minutes to continue our employee spotlight series by talking with Rex Eure. Rex is a Service Technician here at Louisville Switching. He is an expert in his field and a great guy to have around. Read more from Rex's Q&A below.

What do you for Switching on a daily basis?

I am service technician for Louisville Switching. This means I am in charge of maintaining the vehicles I work on daily. I also inspect and repair as needed. Primarily I work on Ottawa Yard Trucks, but I also service semi-trucks and other industry vehicles as well.

Everyday is never the same.

How long have you been in the industry?

I have worked on cars all my life. It's something I really enjoy doing. I have been in the automotive industry for more than 40 years. I am also retired from the Army and served for 20 years as an automotive technician for the military. I have always been a car guy.

Since you are a service tech for Ottawa Yard Trucks, what’s unique about the Ottawa compared to other industry vehicles?

Well, the Ottawa Yard Truck is unique in itself. It is laid out in a logical manner, so you can follow troubleshooting guides when making repairs or inspections. The Ottawa Yard Truck stands alone in every way.

What do you do in your spare time?

Working on cars is something I really enjoy doing and have all my life. I leave work and head home to work on cars. I love the technical side of the automobiles and how they work.
