We are getting really excited about the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) March 31- April 2, 2016. With 70,000 visitors and over 1,000 exhibitors, MATS is the biggest heavy-duty trucking industry annual event in the world. People come from all over the United States and even other countries to see the PKY Truck Beauty competition, participate in a Fleet Forum with the best executives and VIPs of the industry, enjoy a live concert, and attend trucking seminars with something for everyone: companies, fleets, and trucking professionals. Last year, the event attracted people from over 79 countries!

Founded by Paul K. Young in 1972, MATS has grown from 4,000 attendees and 83 exhibitors in the first year to what it is today. The show has been able to expand so much over the years because of the way the organizers listen to what attendees want and come up with new ways to make the show more fun each year.

Mid-America Trucking Show Special Events

At the Mid-America Trucking show, they do it big! To give you an idea of the size of this show, the PKY Truck Beauty competition features the largest group of show trucks in the country—more than 100! The trucks will be competing for honors in multiple categories including best in class, best in show, and people's choice. The beauty competition will take place in Lot J behind the West Wing. The awards ceremony will be in the South Wing lobby, room B104.

The Fleet Forum invites all fleet executives and industry VIPs. The discussion focuses on the future and equipment of trucking with Fleet Owner and Heavy Duty Trucking, the top two trucking industry publications leading the way.

Every year, the Mid-America Trucking Show offers seminars on all things trucking. The seminars cover a range of relevant topics that appeal to everyone in the trucking business. Seminars will take place in the South Wing Conference Center Room B-104 between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Every year, the team at Louisville Switching operates a booth at the Truck Show. We always enjoy seeing friends from the industry, other vendors and, of course, many of our customers. It's a great time to get out of the office while staying on top of the current trends in the trucking industry.

We also want to let you know about a little tradition we've started here at Louisville Switching the week of the show. Every year, before the show we have an open house at our dealership in Louisville. We invite clients, suppliers, and other interested parties to attend. There is amazing BBQ. Enough said.
