ottawa dealer in louisville, kyWhen Butch Troutt sets out to do something, he doesn't usually give up. In fact, Butch is a guy who sticks with something and sees it through. He's dedicated and committed. That's the philosophy he uses daily, not only in his job, but also in his personal life.

As the Operations Manager at Louisville Switching, Butch is dedicated and committed to making sure everything runs smoothly in the three departments he coordinates: service, parts and cartage. He helps out with orders, supports the sales staff, and pitches in with whatever is needed in the leasing department. Since May of this year, Butch has managed his area with a firm belief that, "when you treat folks right, you get paid in kind." That's a lesson, Butch says, he learned from Louisville Switching President Don Robinson, and the main reason Butch enjoys what he does.

"I love the smaller, family feel that Louisville Switching has. This business is run with the utmost integrity, the way all businesses should be run. Don sets the example for how customers should be treated and we try to show our customers that they really matter," Troutt said.

Robinson recognizes that keen ability in Butch to keep his focus and put the needs of the customers first.

"Butch is as calm and methodical as humanly possible. He will always be able to keep the main thing as the main thing. He is unshakeable," Robinson remarked.

After working for a clothing distribution company for 38 years, and fighting fires for 20 years, Troutt believes it is refreshing to now work in an environment that emphasizes customer service and shows daily concern for the employees. Although he loves the challenges and rewards his job brings, he admits that some day he could see himself as a Water Patrolman, trolling the waters of Barron River, soaking in the crisp outdoor air, bobbing in the calming water.

It may just be a pipe-dream, but when Butch isn't checking on parts and managing service issues, you can find him outdoors doing just about anything. Teeing it up on the golf course isn't out of the question for Butch, but when it comes to being outdoors, you will probably find him and his wife of 43 years trekking their seven acre property with his three kids, six grandkids, three dogs, and pet duck. Weekends on the lake, mowing the grass (which takes several hours) and an occasional deer hunting trip are also activities that keep Butch content. And contentment is something Butch Troutt is committed to.
