Job Description: Truck Parts Sales Representative

JOB SUMMARY:    The primary function is to meet the parts needs of our customers and departments and handle all administrative duties required for order processing and customer service.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prompt and accurate responses to parts availability inquiries at the counter, phone, and the service group.
  • Processing parts sales orders, work orders, invoicing, and credit memos in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for researching, locating the best source and ordering parts to ensure that the correct parts will be delivered within the time frame of the job requirements.
  • Providing competitive parts pricing.
  • Prompt and accurate ordering of forecasted and non-forecasted requirements for parts and service.
  • Expedite orders with vendors if parts are overdue.
  • Responsible for entering parts on service jobs via computer system.
  • Responsible for making sure that the parts arrive in a timely fashion according to urgency and timing of job completion.
  • Responsible for entering credit memos and ensuring that parts are returned, if needed.
  • Responsible for input on parts inventory as pertains to which times to stock, quantity and location.
  • Responsible for assisting with inventory control to include cycle counts.
  • Assists at the back counter for parts required by customers.
  • Responsible for handling customer problems and complaints.
  • Shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Parts or service experience in an industrial and/or automotive environment.
  • PC and data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job. 
  • Willingness to learn new skills and strong desire to succeed.
  • Follow all Company policy and procedures.
  • Steel-toed work boots are required.
  • Present a professional image in personal appearance, dress and preparation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Some overtime may be required.  This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
