Christmas is always my favorite time of the year. People are more connected to their fellow man during the Christmas season. The wonderful Christmas music emanating from the store speakers, the TV commercials and the radio stations stirs warm memories of family and Christmases past.

Recent changes in Kentucky's driving laws require all commercial drivers to have hands-free technology if using a cell device. According to a report put out by the Governor's office, "In 2009, more than 200 fatalities on Kentucky’s roads and highways were blamed on distracted driving. The total number of accidents pinned on inattentive drivers totaled 57,000." Safety is priority at Louisville Switching. We purchased hands-free headsets for every driver so we can keep the roads safer.

At Louisville Switching we want to create an environment and culture of thankfulness. We are thankful for freedom and that we live in a country that values freedom. We are thankful that we can work at something we value. We are thankful that we provide great products and service to our clients, and more importantly that they know we genuinely care more about them than we do running our business.

We are thankful that even when the economy is unstable we have been blessed to see our business remain strong. We are thankful that we get to go to work everyday with co-workers who value, respect, and care for each other. We are thankful that our company is less like business and more like family.

Winter is swiftly approaching and with the recent blizzards in West Virginia, you should take inventory to see if your operation is ready for the cold winter months and possible blizzards. Yard trucks are the best tool for moving trailers at your facility, but how well do they operate in the snow?

Hurricane Sandy left behind catastrophic damage in the Northeast, and as predicted by meteorologists the weather systems, that combined with cold temperatures and moisture-filled air dumped many feet of snow on West Virginia and bordering states. Our prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy that left millions without power and destroyed homes and businesses. At last count, the storm also took the lives of more than 70 people in the United States and many more in the Caribbean. We are praying for the grief of mourning families and communities as they clean up and dig out of the debris and snow.

What do Sprinter Vans and yard trucks have in common? Louisville Switching is what they have in common. Recently, one of our clients approached us and asked if we would consider finding them a Sprinter Van. We were honored that they thought so highly of us and trusted us to locate and ready a Sprinter for them.

A Copier is a Xerox and a Spotter is an Ottawa

Whenever you need to make a copy you Xerox the original. This is the common lingo that is used today in the business world. This is almost an expression of endearment. The copy machine that Xerox produced was superior in almost every way to all of the competing brands. Xerox dominated the market for this type of equipment. The impression that business people acquired over time was that your copy machine surely must be a Xerox, and, if it wasn’t, then it should have been a Xerox.
